The ability to explore “why” and do so while collaborating with others is what I enjoy most about research. I am an industrial/organizational psychologist by training, so looking at how the “human side” of the equation impacts organizations (especially small business) is what I enjoy most. As you can see under the Scholarship subsections, I am blessed with diverse and prolific research buddies who challenge and inspire me to stay engaged in ongoing research. Although I am a “human resources person at heart,” teaching Entrepreneurship and Small Business has evolved my research to largely focus on this area; luckily the two frequently have significant overlap. Until we understand why some organizations fail and others succeed spectacularly, there will be no shortage of research topics for me to engage in.
